Landscape Lighting Kits Unlike the light fixtures in your home, landscape lights are specifically designed for outdoor use, and built to withstand inclement weather conditions. They are available in a wide variety of styles, materials, and finishes. Landscape lights can be used to light up the walls of your home, spotlight special architectural features, or to provide area lighting. Illuminating paths and driveways, and lighting up decks or water features is another use. Landscape lights come in materials such as brass, copper, aluminum, plastic, and fiberglass, and in a variety of painted and faux finishes. There is a style and finish to compliment every outdoor landscape lighting need.
To make it easier for you to order a complete landscape lighting system, we have designed various landscape lighting kits to choose from. Each kit will contain the fixtures, bulbs, a transformer, and all the wire and connectors required to properly install the system. You can also add additional fixtures to go with any lighting kit, as well as optional items like timers and photocells. Think of the lighting kit as a starting point, you can always add to it. We will look at your order carefully to insure that all the parts will work properly together, and that everything needed is included.
Spot and Flood lights are available to light up the walls of your home or highlight trees and shrubs. Some fixtures can be used as either a spot or flood light, just by using a different light bulb. Other fixtures are specifically a spot light or a flood light. If you want the flexibility of spot or flood lights for your fixtures, be sure to choose landscape lights that use MR16 bulbs, these are available in the most variety of light spreads. You can get an MR16 bulb with a light spread from 10 to 60 degrees, and they are available in wattages from 10 to 75 watts. MR16 LED retrofit bulbs are available as well.
Path and Area landscape lights are used for lighting up areas of your yard or garden, and for lighting pathways and guiding visitors in a safe manner.
Step and deck lights are used to light up deck and patio areas, and to illuminate steps so visitors not only know where to go, but can safely use the steps in darkness. There is a also full selection of landscape light made specifically for water features that can be completely submerged underwater. These fixtures can be used to light up ponds, waterfalls and fountains.
One of the great advantages of landscape lights is that they can be installed by the typical homeowner or handyman, with minimal skills and tools, unlike the lighting system inside your home that must be installed by a licensed contractor and usually requires building permits, inspections, etc. Installation instructions are usually included with every landscape light, and they are also available on our website. Landscape lights do not require the use of metal conduit for the wires, and are as simple to hook up as adding speakers to a stereo system. The wire can be buried just a couple inches underground or even tucked in between a sidewalk and the lawn, or hidden under ground cover. Most landscape lights come with a section of wire already connected to the fixture, and use a simple connector to hook into the lighting circuit. The transformers for landscape lights are completely weatherproof and can be installed outside with no problems. They plug into any standard household outlet so no wiring to the main fuse panel is required. Landscape lights intended for underwater use come with at least 25 feet of wire connected to the fixture by the factory, making them simple to position and connect to the transformer.
